I absolutely LOVED this museum. I'm a native Floridian, and I already knew a lot of the information. It was spot on with growing up in the country and the history. They incorporate activities to keep the tour interactive. On our specific tour, we made rope, candles, and butter. The butter was so good, we tried it on saltines. Yummy! We did get to take our rope and candle home with us. I loved the buildings we went in, I do wish we got to check out more buildings. I know each tour has to be timed, and maybe they are different when it's not a school field trip. My only complaint is that I wish I could have seen more and learned more. I'd even be happy to be able to explore other buildings on my own. Maybe offer this as an option for adults only? It's just so awesome, and so are your tour guides. They're very knowledgeable and very approachable. I recommend this museum to EVERYONE, who moves here and visits. If you're a Florida resident, you should have been at some point. 10/10.
Great place to visit in the Tampa area, and it is a family venue. The staff is great and is a good opportunity to see old florida.
Great place!
If you are in town, take a moment to go back in time by visiting Cracker Country Tampa, Great staff, and the historic building are just great.
Spectacular living history museum. Focus is on school field trips by reservation, but also frequent public options during the year including Museum Day (FREE), Tall Tales (Oct 21), Christmas in the Country (Dec 9) and of course every day of the Florida State Fair in February. Come see historic 19th century buildings from all over Florida, learn what frontier life was like in the 1800's, and meet authentically-dressed friendly and knowledgeable docents who can enlighten and answer your questions.
Fabulous time for the young and old. The old watch the young and can relive their sack races, spin the wooden top as a child, go in the General Store and pick out that special something from days gone by!! Had a wonderful time celebrating our Sister Christmas!!๐๐๐ผ๐ถ๐ถ๐

Beautiful part of early Florida history preserved right here locally. My son & I enjoy getting boiled peanuts here during the fair and taking a break from the rides, crowd, and sun while enjoying the shade and live music. This visit we got more one on one interaction as we visited for a school field trip. We made candles, rope, postcards, and shopped in the general store.
Such an amazing place to go with family and friends! People are so nice and very informative. Itโs outdoor and the ground was pretty muddy after the rain so make sure you check the weather. Most of the buildings are stroller friendly so you can bring your babies and toddlers there with no problem. I loved the music band; they were cool! Thereโre also plenty of parking. I will definitely come back!
Absolutely loved our homeschool day visit!!! We will be back many times!
